Selling: When cattle near market finish, Sellers Feedlot contacts the owners to determine sale procedures: cash (dressed or live), grid or forward contract. This standard service is provided to Sellers Feedlot clients. After a marketing method is determined, Sellers Feedlot will negotiate and sell market ready cattle to buyers from area packing plants that visit weekly. Cattle can be sold live or dressed (on the rail) for the following terms:
- Cash: cash prices are negotiated based on market trends.
- Grid: cattle value is established by carcass merit.
- Forward Contract: Some packers will contract cattle for a predetermined price at a later date.
Health Programs
Incoming cattle are processed (etc.) shortly after arrival.
Sellers Feedlot has a set processing procedure for incoming cattle including:
- Vaccinations
- Implants for identification
- Deparisitizing, and more
This process can be negotiated with the owner if certain portions of this procedure have been completed before delivery. Long haul, high-risk cattle may require additional stress and care specific processing that is different from the requirements for short-haul, native cattle.
Experienced crews check the cattle and, when needed, ensure appropriate care and treatment is provided in accordance with the consulting veterinarian's recommendations. Cowboys ride the pens daily to verify the overall health of all cattle.
Health updates are available upon request at any time.

Feed can be financed a local bank, the customer's bank or through the feedlot.

Individual & Group Data
Individual Data. This service is provided as requested to Cowmen (producers) interested in the breeding success of individual animals. When requested, Sellers Feedlot individually fits the animal with an electronic identification tag that is graphically identified by ranch. Every time that animal is worked, it is passed over with an electronic wand reader that automatically records its individual data into the computer for reporting to the owner.
Group Data. When cowboys buy cattle for investment purposes, they often want reports on the performance of cattle by group. This data can suggest which producer provides the cowboy with the best performing cattle. Sellers Feedlot provides group data to interested parties.

Pen layout/Clean Pens
Pens are designed so cattle can go from bunk to water to rest area while staying on high ground. The designed pen slope carriers water out the back of the pens to a logon. This layout keeps pens cleaner and dryer. And, dry pens equal better efficiency—as much as 10 percent daily for every four inches of mud.
Sellers Feedlot cleans pens thoroughly each time cattle are moved out. Pens are scraped and holes are filled and packed.
The feedlot's use of Purina Impact rations (fresh, steam-flaked corn and a small amount of silage) produces less manure than a forage-based ration. This ration increases efficiency by as much as 7 percent over conventional rations and controls intake with limiters in the feed.
Feedlot odors stem form undigested feed in manure. Our ration provides cheaper gains through better conversation, and controls odors as a bonus.
Sellers' biological pest control achieves more effective fly control than chemicals.
