Investment Services
Buying Cattle. Sellers Feedlot will purchase cattle for its customers at no cost. Sellers Feedlot has access to many health ranch-fresh calves in the area. If you are interested in purchasing cattle, please contact Sellers Feedlot at sfl@sellersfeedlot.com or by calling 620-257-5144.
Selling Cattle. When cattle near market finish, Sellers Feedlot contacts the owners to determine sale procedures: cash (dressed or live), grid or forward contract. This standard service is provided to Sellers Feedlot clients. After a marketing method is determined, Sellers Feedlot will negotiate and sell market ready cattle to buyers from area packing plants that visit weekly. Cattle can be sold live or dressed (on the rail) for the following terms:
- Cash: cash prices are negotiated based on market trends.
- Grid: cattle value is established by carcass merit.
- Forward Contract: Some packers will contract cattle for a predetermined price at a later date.
Financing. Financing is available though and appreciated by area banks. If you are interested in discussing the financing of purchasing cattle, please contact us and we will be glad to work with you.
Insurance. Disaster insurance is included in the routine charges assessed to investors at Sellers Feedlot.
